SIDSNET:
The Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)
Mailing List

Here is a link to the recent article in Milwaukee's Sentinal Journal

What is the SIDSNET Mailing List?

The SIDSNET Mailing List is a place to discuss issues related to SIDS. When you join the mailing list, the "conversations" which happen are delivered to you via email. When you place a message on the mailing list, that message is delivered to everyone else who belongs to the mailing list.

How Do I Participate?

To participate in the SIDSNET mailing list, you have to use two different email addresses

  1. The address for messages to other list subscribers about SIDS is sidsnet@home.ease.lsoft.com
  2. The address for subscribing, unsubscribing, searching the list archives and other functions is listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com

One of the most common mistakes list participants make is sending a message to the wrong address. If you try to post a message for others to see to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com, they will not receive that message. If you try to manage the mailing list by sending a command to sidsnet@home.ease.lsoft.com, it will not work.

There are three steps to follow in order to participate in the SIDSNET mailing list:

Step One: Create a personal Listserv Password

In order to use this web interface, you need to establish a personal password for yourself on the listserv at home.ease.lsoft.com. You can do that at this screen. This will take you away from the SIDSNET Mailing List web site, so to return just use your browser's 'Back' button. After you have defined a password for yourself on this web screen, you will need to confirm the password by email. You will receive instructions on how to do that.

Step Two: Subscribe to the SIDSNET List

Next, you need to subscribe to the list. The list doesn't accept postings except from subscribers.

Step Three: Begin Using the SIDSNET List

Now that you've subscribed, you can begin reading and posting to the list. Before you post, check out the list's posting guidelines.
